RETREAT. SURF HOTEL. BUENA VISTA. USA.

Colorado has long been a destination for fresh air, running rapids and the general pursuit of outdoor adventure. Based in the adventure town of Buena Vista, Surf Hotel offers carefully crafted spaces to tell a timeless story and features Falcon throughout.

With an emphasis on quality and simplicity, each hotel room at Surf Hotel is designed to offer a sense of escape- from dreamy beds to durable furnishings. Uncover more in our recent interview below with Surf’s Creative Director and Owner, Kennley Selby.

Can you tell us a bit about Surf Hotel?
Surf Hotel is where luxury and adventure cross paths. Our location right above the surf waves allows our guests to experience the great outdoors as their front yard and our lobby as their living room. Our aesthetic is built around quality and simplicity, we love our Falcon for that reason.
What do your customers love most about what you do?
Our location, design and amenities allow us to be a destination for a wide variety of ideas, hosting a wedding celebration, a curated company retreat, a quiet weekend escape or an all out party at one of our concerts. We are a place where everyone is welcome - Luxury without the pretension.

What's your favourite Falcon product and why?
We use two different colors of Tumblers in each guest room, allowing guests to have their own cup and also adding a lovely touch to the color palette. We work with a local colorado candle maker to fill our slightly worn tumblers as scented candles that we burn in the bathrooms giving them a second life.

Is there a specific dish that you might make at Surf Hotel using any of our Falcon products?
Falcon enamelware makes an appearance in a few ways in our Lobby Bar Wesley & Rose
We serve our beloved Calamari in the evening and Beignets for Sunday brunch in the deep plates in black. Tea service is in Falcon tea pots.

What do you love most about Colorado this time of year?
Spring runoff builds a lot of excitement around the river, it brings energy as well as people to town.

Are there any local companies you'd like to shoutabout? Where do you and the team usually eat, drink, and source ingredients in your local area?
We are so lucky to have so many quality small businesses in our town, we have close friendships and collaborate when the opportunities arise. A few newer ones to the town are The Cellar and The Terrace, Deerhammer Distilling and The Asian Palate are foundational and are not to be missed. My guess is with summer in full swing we might even see some new ones pop up! We collaborate with super local as well as wider Colorado to source ingredients for our restaurant.
