CURIOUS BY NATURE

Rooted in a love for nature and the changing seasons, Sarah brings curiosity and care to everything from gardening to writing. In this conversation, she shares how the natural world inspires her work, routine, and how Falcon Enamelware is integrated into her everyday.

Can you introduce us to yourself and what you do?

I’m an RHS-trained gardener and writer with a love and curiosity for nature.

I work full-time for myself, gardening with a sustainable, wildlife-friendly approach that encourages pollinators and biodiversity. I also have an allotment plot where I organically grow my own fruit and vegetables!

I write a weekly newsletter called Curious By Nature, where I share seasonal gardening highlights, observations on birds and insects as well as my reflections on the natural world.

This platform intends to reconnect readers with nature - I don’t pretend to be an expert and the aim is to learn together. If we learn to really look at nature, then in turn, we can offer our planet more respect.

How much do the seasons inspire what you do?

After many years working outdoors, I feel in tune with the seasons - they've become a good friend I can rely on.

However, it's hard to ignore the effects of climate change, which I’m confronted by everyday. Seasonal events are shifting, and it's affecting both wildlife and the trees and plants they depend on.

Spring has always been my favourite season and the season I was born in - a time for renewal and new beginnings! It’s always so charming to see a bird taking sticks to its nest or a tulip wobbling in the wind!

What is your favourite comfort dish to make?

I love a simple pasta, using produce from the allotment. My partner’s green pasta bake is a favourite, served in our Falcon deep plates!

What do you love about Falcon Enamelware?

I love how practical it is. I grew up with enamelware and still use it for almost everything - in the garden and at home. It’s hard wearing, travels well and stylish too! I recently took some pieces on a camping trip to Surrey and they were such a joy to use.

What is your favourite Falcon Product?

I adore the pie dishes, perfect for seasonal salads or making a simple fruit crumble. And the soap dish is a quiet favourite too. Honestly, I love them all!

Do you have any exciting things coming up?

Yes, my newsletter, Curious By Nature is growing steadily, and I’m developing some new ideas around nature writing, workshops and guided walks.

Nature is all around us, I want more people to look around and notice it!
