FESTIVE, COSY NIGHTS

Keep warm with your set of enamelware and this delicious homemade hot chocolate recipe. Kay Prestney is a Stylist and Sustainable Interior Designer who has such an inspirational outdoor space and loves a Winter cookoff or cosy hot chocolate in the garden with her family. Kay suggests making yours spicy by adding cinnamon, nutmeg and/or cardamom to the recipe.


HOT CHOCOLATE

PREP TIME: 5 mins
COOK TIME: 5 mins


INGREDIENTS

•​​ 250ml milk of your choice
•​​ 1 tbsp cocoa
•​​ 1-2 tbsp soft light brown sugar
•​​ 25g dark or plain chocolate, finely chopped, plus a grating to serve
•​​ Optional: 1 tbsp whipped cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom



Heat the milk, cocoa, sugar and chocolate in a small pan over a medium heat until steaming and the chocolate has melted.

Whisk to dissolve the cocoa.

You can add your cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom here if you want to make it spicy.

Pour into a mug, then as an option, add the whipped cream to float on top. Grate over a little more chocolate to serve.
